South-Sudanese Afrobeats/R&B sensation Beckie Johnz dropped another hit single titled “Mukugu”. Beckie blends hip-hop with Afrobeats as she features Fik Fameia on this new project. Known for her Afro-eccentricity and unusual delivery, authenticity, and versatility, Beckie is set to prove once again that she knows just exactly how to get the vibes rolling when it comes to Afro-fusion genres. Beckie employs Arabic, English, Luganda, and the Kiswahili languages to give it both a wider/universal appeal and a unique musical flavor. “Mukugu” is about a girl who fell in love with a certain boy because of his unique and appealing lifestyle. Beckie is working towards releasing a bigger project in the near future – an upcoming album.
The single “Mukugu” was written by Beckie and Nikolye; produced, mixed, and mastered by Bomba, while Jack Graffix directed the music video. Talking about what she hopes to achieve with this brand new release, Beckie hints that she wishes to entertain, awaken emotions, bring some smiles to people’s faces and also reach a broader audience that she couldn’t reach in her previous projects and releases. Beckie describes her sounds as Afro-infused with some R&B. Previously, Beckie has been supported by Trace, NBS Uganda, Ngoma tv Nairobi, etc.
Judging from her previous singles like “TAB,” “Good Crazy” ft Spice Diana, and “Ntogo” ft Daddy Andre and Navio, it is right to expect nothing but “pure fire” from this coming release; Spice Diana is one of Uganda’s biggest artists, while Daddy Andre is the biggest producer in Uganda, arguably East Africa. Also, Navio is another big East African artist.
“Mukugu” by Beckie Johnz featuring Fik Fameica is available on all streaming platforms.
